Construction Updates for downtown businesses

Road update on the Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project
Post Date: Aug 23 2016
As public school starts tomorrow, the contractor on the Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project is making sure sidewalk access is available for students, as roads directly around Central Campus High School remain under construction.

The following map shows the roads that are currently under construction, including three blocks of First Street SE to the west of Central Campus and one block of Second Avenue SE to the north of the building. Parents/guardians of students are encouraged to use drop off points one, two or three blocks away from the main entrance of the school for the next few days in order to alleviate the traffic crunch that is likely to occur. Third Avenue, just to the south of Central Campus will be open to traffic going east/west for this week. Second Street SE is also a good option for people to use for pickup/drop off, as is First Avenue SE by the Central Campus green space.

One block of First Avenue SW opened to the driving public late this afternoon, by US Bank and Second Story. Keller Paving anticipates opening roads just to the north of Central Campus early next week.

As well, businesses and residents are encouraged to attend weekly public meetings with the City of Minot, the project engineering firm, and the contractor on Mondays at approximately 2:15 p.m. These meetings are located at Houston Engineering, at 18 Third Street SE in Minot.
